Prelude
Hamilton is a small city in Ontario, Canada. It is also called 'The city of Waterfalls'... there are 16 nice waterfalls in this little city. Hamilton is located at the southern part of Ontario. During the spring break, in a sunny weekend on 4th of May 2013, me with Roni da, Mohua di & Subhojyoti da planned for a short Hamilton trip by car.
It was a 2 hours drive from our city, London of Ontario. We started around 10 AM. It was really a nice weather having blue sky & temperature around 15 degrees... the ideal situation for travelling. Within half an hour we were in main highway 401.
Had our lunch near Woodstock at a roadside restaurant.
The road was towards Hamilton was fantastic through the villages. We were driving through the small city roads with tiny houses beside, small tress having flowers of strange colors, etc. was just like a painting!
Our first destination was Webster's falls.
We explored the whole trail associated with the falls.
Took some snaps from the top.
There was no direct way to go at the bottom of the waterfalls, but the view from bottom was seeming to be amazing. As we didn't want to miss the beauty, decided to break some rules and climbed the boundary of a closed pathway to reach there. And finally we were at the bottom! Although very small in comparison, still it reminded me about Niagara!
We spent about an hour at Webster's & then had to leave for exploring other nice waterfalls in the city.
The nearest one to Webster's was nice Tew's falls. Here also we tried to go down at the bottom, but there was no way. In fact it was a bit risky to climb down through the steep trails. So we had to remain satisfied with the top view only. Nevertheless to mention, Tew's is really small but beautiful!
The city was amazing, just like a landscape painting. Especially in spring with the trees blossomed with flowers with amazing colors made it just like heaven! As we were driving through the small city roads, it was a real refreshment for our eyes & mind. I wish if I had a little house there! :)
We didn't have the detailed route of our destinations. Also, our car GPS system was a bit older. So we were having trouble to search rest of the water falls at the nook & corners of the city. Had a chance to see the nice Canterbury hills area as we were driving through the nearby conservation area.
Suddenly we fond out the route for Sherman falls and immediately headed towards searching it. Sherman is really a wild beauty!
Nobody was there when we went to Sherman, just like a virgin place. Took some group photos there.
Into the wilderness...
I was almost lost in the solitude of the place...
And didn't miss any single opportunity to take some nice snaps...
As we had limited time, had to move on after sometimes. And we could manage only one falls with the remaining time. So decided to head for Albion Falls, near Toronto. It was about 15 Km away from Sherman. Albion is a famous cascade waterfalls.
I walked around the falls & explored the area and went towards 'Lovers' lap'. There were nice rock walls beside the falls, which can be ideal for rock climbing practice. Unlike Sherman's, the place was a bit crowded. We stayed there for about an hour.
Roni da dropped me at my place around 9PM. It was a nice trip & as usual time to start planning for our next tour... :)
